Zee Closure 42-2011

Wow, this week has been very qui-et. There’s actually very little to report, especially considering the past two weeks.

RIM unveiled their new plans for an OS based on QNX called BBX. Unfortunately they’re already facing court due to that name. I guess TLA’s are pretty much out these days…

Other than that there’s been some more fighting between Samsung and Apple, with Samsung pretty much drawing the short stick on all accounts. But let’s not go into that anymore.

And that’s actually pretty much it. I’m sure it’ll pick up next week ;) Apple will announce their Ken to Siri or maybe Microsoft will buy Yahoo after all. Who knows. Anything can happen in the web-soap!

As for JavaScript goodies; here’s a 3d minesweeper in webgl, very cool, very difficult. In case you want to know more about webgl, here’s a good primer for ya. Or maybe you’d rather play Xwing, a Star Wars inspired game? After a challenge like that you may want to cool your brain with this Cheese or Font quiz. Neon flames is a nice demo. An awesome game of Duckhunt. Milkshake does an awesome job at visualizing audio in webgl. There was an awesome 140 bytes audio demo btw, a must look/listen ;) You can find some detailed information about css shaders over here. Google released a nice webgl book store navigation app. And finally, to add to the webgl awesomeness, a tutorial for physics with webgl.

See you next week!
